awesome product....kids are having a ball on it, will send pictures in due course. a few comments: - do they come with more powerful motors? - the attachment to stop not sliding off the board is very flimsy and mine has already broken, resulting in me making an alternate plan (cable ties). I would consider looking at the current fin restraint on the SUP fin, and copy this design. Its much hardier, and would work very well? - do u have a south african agent for these fins? if not would you like one? thanks stuart
I only do reviews if it’s horrible or amazing. And my extended boost fin is absolutely amazing! Never had anything similar before and this was my first time on a kayak. Everything super easy from charging to mounting and actual running. The battery life of the extended version is real good too. I ran the fin for over half hour and it still had 74% battery left. Absolutely awesome product! Well done!!
The Long Range Fin has been well and truly tested on various SUPs set ups mostly for fishing. It enables you to access spots some hard to get to spots. Pre planning your trip allows you to use the wind and drift fish, then power wind up again. This leaves ample power for when you need it most. Installed it on the long board and stole wave after waves. Also helps with my dodgy shoulder and paddling into waves.

Just took it out for an hour or so in Grand Cayman. Traveled just under 2 miles, first with, then against the wind, on 7-mile beach. With the settings at SUP assist and running it non-stop except when I beached at halfway to ensure it's still firmly attached it had 86% at the end. Speaking of the board, it's 15yrs old, US fin box, and appears to remain quite secure throughout. I'll take it back out and intend to do more of the same, but thrilled as I've been waiting for this. Will use this in the summer behind Nauset Beach in Cape Cod for same. In a stiff wind, it can barely make headway, but that's expected and fits w/ my intended use. Well done!!!
The ordering was confusing as it wouldn't accept my order and said it couldn't ship but wouldn't tell me why? I chat GPT and they said it was due to the battery not being able to ship to Florida but you can order via customer support and they could bypass. It took a couple tries for customer service to figure out what I was trying to do . Once I showed them my Bote board and said it took the standard longboard setup they told me what to order. Since you have no toll free # I couldnt talk to anyone and rely on messaging to get my questions answered. I was thinking wow this is very hard to order this product. I tried the boost once and have not had time to adjust speeds. Low speed is fine but high speed only lasts for like 15 secs. I am thinking this can be adjusted but have not had time to research.

My buddy and I went out on the lake and used it full speed for 98% of an 1hr 45min trip and it still has an 85% charge. He is 285lbs and so am I. Dog wieghts 70lbs and it still pushed and helped in a afternoon head wind at 8mph. I recommend for bigger guys.
I was sending the two that I purchased back to be fixed. The service has been excellent and even though they won’t work now, I definitely think this product is excellent and will be extremely useful to me in the future. I would like to buy more once these are fixed.
It works as expected, but to be honest I was underwhelmed by it; it is a pain to connect to my Isle board, adds significant weight to it, is inflexible (so if you run over a rock in the water, watch out) and at top speed runs well for the first minute then appears to "stagger" which causes noticeable vibration. I think for the price point it would be a more well-rounded product.
So far works very well cruising. Gonna try it surfing, catching waves.

I had a stroke 2 years ago and have not been able to surf since. My paddling was really weak. The boost fin has helped me paddle out and regain my paddling strength. It’s been surf saver.

Honestly, wrong time of the year to head on a SUP, but...the build quality is exceptional, and functionality required to get it the water is superb. The prop and motor run very smooth. I'm so impressed that I have retained it past its 30 day return window and look forward to good weather to get out. This will be a game changer for future fishing and water relaxation outings. I have already convinced a friend to buy one.

I paddle long distances and the long range boost fin makes it enjoyable and more interesting. I Sup wing in a lake with mountains around so the wind changes are challenging. But not anymore I've got the power!!!

I had to make modifications to the SUP adaptor but once I did the fin has been incredible! It is strong enough that my wife was able to hold onto my board and it took us both back to shore! 10 out of 10 recommend!

It’s just a little bit of a boost and it can help you paddle into waves, but it could also help you when you’re just stand up paddle boarding and the strong winds… It’s a great invention. Hi Ty - I love it - wish I knew it was available b4 I bought my original on Amazon. There was a delay on my order & I was promised a boost fin travel bag - I’m still waiting - I also requested a 3rd sup adapter in case I order a 3rd fin . If you could send it woith the bag would be great . Lastly if possible I would like a spare of the fitted space taker that goes onto the fin so it fits snugly onto my paddleboard. I’m not sure if I’ll get a short or long range for my 3rd but I’m carry happy so far with my purchase
Item is as described on website. The Boost Fin Long Range allows me to paddleboard under power for about 1.5 hours. It is extremely helpful when I use it paddling against the Tacoma Narrows tidal currents in the Puget Sound. When not in use the fin still gives me stability on my board without to much drag. I also was worried about how much my board weighed with the fin on when i carried it, but it turns out it's not bad. I love it ! And am very satisfied with this product.

As a disabled surfer, the boost fin allows me to get back in the water. Without it, I would simply be unable to participate in the sport I love. I tried the original boost fin which was great but the long range version suits me better. Because i can no longer paddle, just kick, I can change the back out to the lineup setting from 70 to 85% and still have enough battery life for a good session. I would recommend the boost fin to any disabled, injured or elderly surfer needing a boost.

Is Long Range Boost Fin compatible with my board?
The Long Range package includes a Longboard Adapter, which fits most boards with a US box mount. If your board uses a different fin box system, additional adapters are available separately to ensure compatibility with a wide range of surfboards and paddleboards.
* What does “180 minutes in Surfing Assist (Long mode)” mean?
In Surfing Assist (Long mode), Boost Fin Long Range can run for up to 180 minutes, but this refers to total session time, not continuous motor use. The system is optimized for real surfing conditions, where power is used only when needed:
• Paddling to the lineup – 3–6 minutes of boost.
• Waiting for a wave – 3–7 minutes with no power use.
• Catching a wave – a short 7–10 second boost.
By using energy efficiently, Boost Fin Long Range extends your session, helping you catch more waves with less effort.
Note: In the Boost Fin app, you’ll find two modes:
1. Short mode - which you can SETUP
2. Long mode - you usually select from the menu
What happens if I fall off the board?
Because you'll wear the button on the wrist (which most of you would do), you can shut it off manually anytime. So don't worry, you won't have to chase your board.
How much noise does Boost Fin make? Sharks?
The Boost Fin doesn't make any loud noise. We tested it out with surfers paddling 3ft away from the Boost Fin and they couldn't hear a thing. All they did was wondering how the heck was that surfer paddling so fast!
Later tests determined that sharks are attracted by frequencies ranging between approximately 10 and 800 Hz while we are using 30Mhz which equals 30000000 Hz. Plus you can also use a Shark Band bracelet for extra safety.
How to control the Boost Fin?
The device is switched on and off by bringing the screwdriver handle with a magnet into the light indication area. The Hall sensor HS1 is responsible for turning on, and HS2 for turning off. A timer shutdown is also possible, the default value is 30 min, which can be configured via the app. The device also turns off automatically when the battery is completely discharged.
After successfully turning on the device, the motor is controlled by a radio remote control with two buttons. The remote can go on your wrist, shoulder, or paddle if you're on a SUP. Button A turns on the Short Boost mode, button B turns on the Long Boost mode. All parameters of these modes can be configured through the mobile app, which can be downloaded here. Pressing any of the buttons again turns off the motor.
Waterproof Standards
Boost Fin meets the IPX8 waterproof standard (up to 10m / 32'9").
Each part and component exposed to saltwater are salt fog endurance resistant and certified for saltwater operation. All plugs, connectors, and other electrical contacted surfaces are covered with rubber plugs to prevent them from water.
Seawater can enter the charger port without any damage - there's a diode that essentially acts as a one-way switch for current. It allows current to flow easily in one direction, but severely restricts current from flowing in the opposite direction
